Ellingtonian Tales

Ken Peplowski (clarinet and tenor sax) with John Horler (piano) and Phil Lee (guitar).

Ken is one of the outstanding soloists of today's jazz world as evidenced by numerous big band and small recordings. On this session he is supported by either Horler or Lee on top form. An intriguing range of music composed by The Duke and his associates has been selected to superb effect.

"As you'd expect, it's a very intimate album, where all three are totally at home with each other musically and the playing throughout is tasteful." Tony Hall Jazzwise October 2001.

Jazz CD of the week, The Observer, September 2001.
